Nigerian media mogùl Dele Momodu has weighed in on his niece, Sophia Momodu’s custody battle with music star, Davido.
On his Instagram page, he stated that in Liberia, where he is, Davido is being treated as the god of music, and Sophia is being loved by ladies to bits.
He claimed that one of Sophia’s. Fans told him to step in and settle the quarrels, and he assured her that there is nothing to worry about as they’re working behind the scenes and everything will be alright.

Kemi Filani reported last week that Davido had reportedly lost his cool in court. Lawyer Maruf Muhammed, via Twitter, alleged that the singer was in court in Yaba, where he lost his cool during cross-examination and was creating chaos in the courtroom.
Davido explained that he never asked for full custody and asked for joint custody. He announced that he had decided to drop the case and assured his daughter that she would grow up knowing he fought for her.
In 2023, during her messy fallout with Davido, , Sophia also had a public fallout with her uncle, Dele Momodu. The mother of one had unfollowed her uncle over his love and support for the Adelekes. He had angered Sophia after he shared a photo online of Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke with Imade Adeleke, to celebrate his birthday.
Amid the unfollowing, while celebrating her birthday, Dele had appealed to her to tone down her online drama with Davido. Describing Sophia as his darling, he said a powerful prayer for her and affirmed his love for her.
In 2024, when Davido filed a lawsuit against her, demanding joint custody of their daughter, Dele, disclosed that Sophia had been responsible for their daughter’s welfare, hinting that the allegations made by his niece were facts. He also spoke of how he tried to resolve the issue by involving Davido’s father and uncle, Deji Adeleke and Ademola Adeleke, respectively, and how they provided solutions according to their capabilities.
