The former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso has been warned to watch his utterances against the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki.

This warning came from a group of senators under the aegis of the Like Minds, who expressed shock over Kwankwaso’s verbal attack on Saraki, Leadership reports.

The Like Minds senators were reacting to a statement by Kwankwaso where he described the emergence of Saraki as Senate president as a dangerous signal for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He also warned Saraki not to use his ambition to destroy the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Speaking on behalf of the group, its coordinator, Senator Dino Melaye, warned the former governor to desist from such utterances which have the capability of destabilising the National Assembly and rubbishing the prevailing political tranquility in the country.

The senator wondered when Kwankwanso, who is one of their colleagues became a friend of Buhari.

According to Melaye, Kwankwaso was suffering defeat syndrome, which is why he has resorted to hate campaign and vile language.

He added that the opinions of the former governor are that of a selfish man whose ambition has beclouded his sense of reasoning.

Melaye stated that Saraki’s emergence as Senate president would not constitute any threat to President Buhari’s administration.

He pointed out that the President was safer in the hands of Saraki as the president of the Senate.

Kwankwaso had earlier said the emergence of Ike Ekweremadu as Senate deputy president would create problems for Buhari.

In reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had cautioned him to stop making comments capable of rubbishing political tranquility in the country.
