Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)  Governor and flag flyer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has accused his opponent, Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of kidnapping a sitting governor and forging his Senior Secondary School certificate, during the Anambra Gubernatorial Debate organized by Arise TV, Monday.

While addressing Andy Ubah, the former CBN Governor said that Andy did not have a Senior School Certificate Examination result. He went on to ask his APC counterpart if he obtained a Senior School Certificate Examination result certificate in 1974 as he claimed, describing it as forgery.

Recall that Ubah recently appeared in court over charges that bordered on the school certificate which he allegedly submitted for the election. The court documents stated that the form EC9 which he tendered was filled with false information.

It pointed out the fact that Ubah claims that he sat for the exams in 1974, but the West African Examinations Council, which was listed in the suit did not conduct the SSCE.

While they fielded  questions from the moderators during the Anambra Gubernatorial Debate, Soludo also accused Ubah of allegedly being part of those that masterminded the abduction of the a former governor of the state while he was still in power.

On his part, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), at the Anambra Gubernatorial Debate, Mr Valentine Ozigbo cleared doubts on the issue of godfatherism in Anambra state.

He assured that the only godfather he would have had were the ones he fought and defeated in the courts when he retrieved his governorship tickets after they tried to deny him of it.

He made that statement clear because of the way people continued to spread the rumour that former Governor Peter Obi was his godfather.

His words: He (Obi) was never with me when I was not a candidate, but when I won the candidacy, he also came all out. I associate with him because I know he did well. If I’m not proud to associate with Peter Obi, who else will I be proud to associate with in Anambra PDP.

Godfather is one who will tie your hands and tell you to share the state’s resources. I know those ones and I battled them in court and I defeated them well. So I’m in the race to give value to Anambra people.’

He went on to say that he had confidence in winning the election, the only thing bothering him being the level of ruin he will meet in office when he assumes.

Ozigbo said that he had an advantage  over other candidates like content of character, the ability to listen and youthfulness, which they did not have. But  added that the Anambra Gubernatorial Debate was not his first debate since campaign started as he had so far, been a part of six governorship debates even when his APC and APGA opponents refused to be in attendance.
