Davido’s Wows Music Industry As ‘A Better Time’ Album Exceeds 100Milliion Streams In Just 3 Days

A prominent Nigerian singer popular referred to as Davido has currently reached another milestone in his musical career and made a statement of how influential he is in the entertainment industry, by creating another record with his new album titled ‘A Better Time’.

The album has been streamed over a hundred million times on major digital platforms within just three days of its release. The awe at this is the number of days it took for it to.hit such staggering figures it just so spectacular and amazing to say the least.

Davido is an American-born Nigerian Musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His birth name is David Adedeji Adeleke and he was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia the United and later on, moved to Nigeria where he spent most of his childhood.

His parents are the late prof Mrs. Vero Adeleke, while his father is Adedeji Adeleke, a Nigerian billionaire who is the founder and president of Adeleke University and the CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited.

Davido attended the British International School in Lagos and moved to the US where he studied Business Administration at Oakwood University before dropping out to become a musician. In 2011, Davido returned to Nigeria where he paused his music career and enrolled at Babcock University as per his father’s request. He graduated from Babcock with a degree in music after his father paid the university to start a music department for an inaugural class of one student in 2015.

While in Nigeria Davido developed a strong interest and passion for music and decided to give it a go despite the fact that he was from a wealthy family, he never allowed it to deter his passion for what he wanted and believed in as he kept his focus.

In 2011, he started working on his album Omo Baba Olowo, which consisted of a mixture of afro-beats and hip hop.

Davido eventually rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo in 2012.

In 2013, the album won Best R&B/Pop Album and received a nomination for Album of the Year at The Headies. At the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, the album was also nominated for Best Album of the Year.

In February 2013, Davido released “Gobe” which was ranked second on Premium Times’ list of the Top 10 songs of 2013. In August 2013 he released “Skelewu” which was ranked fifth on Premium Times’ list of the top 10 songs of 2013.

In June 2014, Davido collaborated with Mi Casa, Lola Rae, Sarkodie, Diamond Platnumz, and Tiwa Savage on “Africa Rising”, a song that was used for DStv’s eponymous campaign to inspire Africans to partake in community-based social investment projects.

In 2017 he won Best African Act at the 2017 MOBO Awards. Davido won Best International Act at the 2018 BET Awards, becoming the first African artist to receive his award on main stage.

His brand and music became so popular and gained wide acceptance and fanbase such that at a very early part of his musical career he had amassed over Twenty awards, he has worked with renowned artists such as Chris Brown and Drake such that his musical styles had paid it’s due for quality and creative credibility.

The ‘Fem’ crooner took to his Twitter page to acknowledge the feat. In his words:

“100 million streams in 3 days!! From Apple Music, Boomplay, Youtube, Spotify & Audiomack. Other DSP’s to report later today, let’s keep streaming ABT! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!”

It is easier for many people to claim that his family’s wealth played a significant role in his musical career but they forget quickly the time, energy, hardwork, training and focus involved in order to be this good as to gain so much accolades and acceptance.
