20 Confirmed Dead As Twin Explosions Rock Kano

Reports have it that palm centre, a popular mobile phone market in Kano, has been rocked by multiple explosions.

According to feelers from the ancient city, 20 dead bodies have been evacuated from the scene of the mayhem which was said to have been perpetrated by teenage suicide bombers.

This is coming barely 24 hours after over 30 people were confirmed dead in an explosion that rocked Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

Reports have it that security operatives have arrived the scene of the popular market and have cordoned off the area as residents are still in panic following the new development.

Exactly a year ago, there was also a report of the populous town being rocked by a bomb blast, also inside a market.

Alhaji Muhammed Katsina, the state commissioner of police was also sighted at the scene of the blast and has vowed to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.

A witness said the first explosion occurred at the market entrance while the second device exploded near a pavilion in the centre of the market.

The witness informed further that two vans filled with victims were driven away from the scenes of the explosions, adding that a teenage suicide bomber is believed to be behind one of the explosions.

While an elderly suicide bomber ferried the second device right into the centre of the market.

A detached human leg, believed to belong to the teenage suicide bomber, was also sighted near the gate of the market, which was filled to capacity at the time of the incident.
