We want to upgrade prisons because everybody is now a potential prisoner – Nigerian lawmaker reveals fear of Buhari

The member representing Kachia/Kagarko federal constituency of Kaduna state says everybody is a potential prisoner in the regime of President Buhari

He said as a result of that, lawmakers are determined to upgrade prisons facilities

He said this during the commissioning of 239 operational vehicles and farm implements recently acquired by the Nigerian Prisons Service

Hon. Jagaba Adams Jagaba ,the Chairman, House of Representative Committee on Interior, says the National Assembly was working hard to make the upgrading of Nigerian prisons across the country better.

He claimed that the House of Representatives are bent on this because “everyone is now a potential prisoner.”

According to him, the House Representatives in efforts to to improve Nigerian Prisons Service allocations, had to take funds from other agencies The member representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency of Kaduna state in the House of Representatives made this kown in Abuja on Thursday during the commissioning of 239 operational vehicles and farm implements recently acquired by the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS).

“Everybody is a potential prisoner especially in this administration”, he said. “It is important that we have good prisons because governors, ministers and other big politicians are now being committed to prison.”

According to him, the House Representatives in efforts to to improve Nigerian Prisons Service allocations, had to take funds from other agencies.

“In this year’s budget, we have allocated much more funds to the Nigerian Prisons Service,” he added.

  1. Is ot because now it’s mostly the politicians that are sent to prison? So sad that till things affect them, that they make a move to better things.
