The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said those blaming herdsmen for the death of Funke Olakurin, the daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, do not have evidence to support it.

While speaking during his condolence visit to the deceased’s family in Akure, Tinubu said kidnapping is not a peculiar thing to any ethnic group in the nation, The Cable reports.

When he was asked to react to the allegation that herdsmen were behind the attack, he said he is very concerned about the security situation in the country, saying he could go into the whole history of kidnapping in the country.

He said: “I am extremely concerned about security but I don’t want stigma. I can go through history of kidnapping and we know how it started, where it all started, there are lot of copycats, how many years ago have we faced insecurity in this country and cases of kidnapping? Is Evans a herdsman?”

It should be noted that Evans is a high profile suspect for various cases of kidnapping in the country. He has been in detention as there is an ongoing court case against him.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the APC national leader while visiting the bereaved family, asked that people should not allow the horrible incident to divide the country.

He also offered special prayers to the family during his visit, while urging for a total solution to the security crisis in the nation.

Legit.ng also reported that Pa Reuben Fasoranti spoke following the killing of his daughter, Funke Olakunrin, saying he never believed he would not be seeing her again.

It was gathered that the leader of the socio-cultural Yoruba group, Afenifere, spoke on Saturday, July 13, when he received dignitaries who had come to pay condolence visits.

The Afenifere leader said he did not believe Friday, July 12, would be the last day he would see his daughter as she had come to bid him farewell.
