In a new twist, Big Brother Naija former housemate Sheggz has shared his financial records with Bella as he continues to shut down reports that he’s broke.
In a new suit, his legal team provided financial records to counter some of the claims made against him.
From the suit, an audit of Sheggz’s UK account showed that he spent £220,000 of his own funds on Bella while they were in the UK.
His lawyers also said Sheggz was the principal provider throughout the relationship, while acknowledging that Bella had her own income and made financial contributions.
Addressing the failed promise to marry Bella, he said he genuinely believed the relationship would lead to marriage; however, over time, things became strained because of persistent disagreements. He said the intervention of members of Bella’s family, including her sister and her mother, made him hesitant to marry her.
Sheggz’s team is now demanding the removal of defamatory publications against him, a cease-and-desist order to refrain from further publication, and an unreserved apology.
A few days ago, Sheggz had filed a defamation lawsuit against Bella for alleging he owes her money.
Bella had hit back, rejecting the defamation claims, which her lawyers described as spurious and baseless. Her lawyers alleged that Bella and Sheggz’s relationship involved a breach of promise to marry and misrepresentation of intentions that amounts to deceit.
Her lawyers further claimed that Sheggz obtained several loans from Bella by false pretence, and promised to pursue the matter before a competent court.
A week ago, Sheggz confirmed their breakup, making it clear that he didn’t cheat on her and their relationship ended in January 2026 and attempts to reconcile afterwards were futile.
In a follow-up post, he clarified that he never intended to accuse or portray Bella as unfaithful. He said he and Bella shared mutual respect and genuine love for each other while it lasted, and what happened between them shouldn’t be reduced to speculation or accusations of cheating.
Following his statement, Bella’s sister, Sandra Okagbue, took to the comment section of his birthday post for Bella, telling him to delete it. She urged him to take her sister’s pictures down from his page.
Breaking her silence, she explained why she stayed silent, while adding that she loved Sheggz and decided to give him a second chance because she believed people can grow and change. The reality star clarified that wanting to marry Sheggz wasn’t desperation, and that knowing when not to marry is discernment.
Following their split, reports claimed that whenever the couple fell out, Sheggz would bring up marriage talks and make promises to Bella.
In one of their leaked chats, Sheggz promised they would make a big deal of their engagement, saying they would do a full ring reveal with icebox and scatter it everywhere. He promised that Bella would be the first Nigerian female influencer to break America.
Responding to his promises in the chat, Bella called him a liar, saying he was filled with 100 promises.
