The security chiefs have refused to reveal the details of their discussion with the President.

Shortly after the meeting which held on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, reporters approached the security chiefs, but they declined to make any comment.

Thereafter, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, was asked to react to the allegation of meddling in the elections in Rivers State levelled against the Nigerian Army by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Army boss, however, referred the reporters to the acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, who also refused to make any comment.

The meeting also comes four days ahead of the supplementary election scheduled to hold in some states after INEC declared the governorship election inconclusive.

It had in attendance the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

Security chiefs also present included Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok Ekwe Ibas, and Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Yusuf Bichi, among others.

Government officials in attendance were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, as well as the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno.
