Local police are gearing up for possible confrontations after learning that angry pro-Jackson protesters will be on ground at the Sundance Film Festival amid the premiere of a blistering Michael Jackson documentary “Leaving Neverland.”

TMZ says law enforcement sources revealed the Park City PD is aware of an anti-documentary protest being organized on social media, therefore the police are going to beef up their presence both inside and outside the premiere with uniformed and undercover personnel.

Officers are most concerned about any form of disruptions which may take place during the Q&A portion of the screening as historically, that’s when protesters have caused the biggest disturbances. Even at that, law enforcement agents won’t prevent anyone from exercising their First Amendment rights, so long as they do not block sidewalks or entrances.

“Leaving Neverland,” explores alleged sexual abuse by the King of Pop, and the film is already being slammed by the late singer’s estate. Despite outside pressure to pull the film, Sundance officials say it’s full steam ahead.
