Majority of Nigerian celebrities across all fields of entertainment have decided to remain vocal and express their dissappointment and sentiments to the federal government in the midst of the #EndSARS protests against police brutality and clamour for a better standard of living amongst the Nigerian youths and citizens in general. This is also against the backdrop of the recent shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.

According to Kate Henshaw the popular Nollywood star actress and producer the situation we find ourselves as a nation is too shameful to behold. we can no longer open beat our chest and boast of our nation due to the way things have degenerated.

The Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has stated that the only weapon in the hands of #EndSARS protesters is a phone and the truth. This is in reaction to the news of attacks against peaceful protesters across Nigeria.

This is also related to the news of prisoners being released by protesters in Benin. The actress is not convinced that the prison break in Benin was masterminded by #EndSARS protesters.

Posting to Twitter, she wrote:

“No weapon in the hands of #EndSARS protesters except a phone and the truth!! #EndSARS”

“The enemy is raging…… #EndSARS“, she subsequently tweeted.

Recall that the movie star recently spoke at a protest ground in Lagos, where she shared that Nigerian youths have a right to live peacefully in their country without fear of being harassed.

Meanwhile in the same vein, Adesuwa Etomi, the wife of popular pop singer and actor Banky W, has also aired her own view on the end SARS protest and debate. She took to her social media platform, and wrote: #EndSARS: ‘The Lives That Have Been Lost Are Priceless’.

Taking to Twitter, the award-winning movie star wrote:

“Many lives have been lost. We can’t put a price on that. #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria”

The actress has also empathized with #EndSARS protesters in Abuja. “My goodness. Abuja protesters. Plssss try to stay safe. During these peaceful protests, you have faced one thing or the other every single day. We are all rooting for you. #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria“, she tweeted further.

Ayo Makun an actor and comedian, popularly known as AY, and who is also the founder of AyTV and also responsible for the annual comedy show AYLive, was visibly present at the Lekki scene of the shooting. According to eye witness reports, they claimed that AY was lucky to have left the scene before the shooting began.

AY was seen to have been encouraging the protesters and his fans while waving a Nigerian flag at the toll plaza, and shortly immediately he left the armed men came in to shoot at protesters. He has since expressed his disappointment and condoled with the families who lost loved ones.

Other celebrities who have been quite vocal on the shooting issues include the following; WizKid, Davido, Omotola Asa, Mercy Eke. Ebuka Obi Uchendo, Tiwa Savage, former P Square brothers, and a whole host of other celebrities too numerous to mention, within and outside the country. Their voices have been unanimous in condemning the killings in Lekki.
