Big Brother Naija reality star Bella Okagbue has sued her ex, Sheggz Olusemo, for attempted murder.
In a court document making rounds online, Bella, through her lawyers, accused Sheggz of alleged torture, attempted murder, and breach of promise to marry her and other grievances.
The reality star’s lawyers, who are demanding N2.5 billion in damages, alleged that she suffered a series of well-documented buffeting, verbal assault, emotional, physical and mental torture, including an attempted murder via asphyxiation.
According to their claims, Sheggz assaulted Bella in October 2023, locked her inside his house and refused to let her leave. They also cited a message Bella sent to his mother, telling her to talk to her son to let her go home.
“Mum, please, call Sheggz to let me go home. I want to go home. I’ve been disrespected enough”.
Bella’s lawyers further noted how Bella had expressed fear over Sheggz’s alleged threats to kill her and constant strangulations in conversations documented in November, 2025.
As a result of this, Bella is demanding N19.826 million and £10,237; N500 million for breach of promise to marry, and N2 billion for physical, emotional, and psychological trauma.
Her lawyers have given Sheggz three days to comply or risk legal action.

Last month, Sheggz had filed a defamation lawsuit against Bella for alleging he owes her money.
Bella had hit back, rejecting the defamation claims. Her lawyers claimed that Sheggz obtained several loans from Bella by false pretences and promised to pursue the matter before a competent court.
Her lawyers alleged that Bella and Sheggz’s relationship involved a breach of promise to marry and misrepresentation of intentions that amounts to deceit.
Retaliating, Sheggz’s legal team provided financial records to counter some of the claims made against him. His lawyers also said Sheggz was the principal provider throughout the relationship, while acknowledging that Bella had her own income and made financial contributions.
Addressing the failed promise to marry Bella, he said he genuinely believed the relationship would lead to marriage; however, over time, things became strained because of persistent disagreements. He said the intervention of members of Bella’s family, including her sister and her mother, made him hesitant to marry her.
