Anambra State Women Association of Southern California (ASWA-SC) led by their very able President Attorney Mrs. Amaka Ada Akudinobiheld their 10th Anniversary Celebration themed : Onaedo Women, Building Bridges to a Brighter Future at The Grand- Event Center , Long Beach CA on Saturday June 9th, 2018. It was a classy night of celebrating the great achievements of these elegant stallions who in the last 10 years have raised the bar in caring for their members and helping out the needy and the less privileged here in America and back in their home state, Anambra. It was a nice of upscale celebration as awards were given to high achievers in our community namely- Her Excellency Chief(Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) Wife of the Executive Governor of Anambra State,- represented by Dr. Ijeoma Omekam Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Anambra State Governor on Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism- who recieved the Onaedo Woman of the Year Award.
Other award recipients include Mrs. Esther Ikeji, the longest serving Executive of the association, Ms. Adaobi Gwacham, Owner of the Chik Filet Franchise in Pasadena, Ms Omelogo Udeze for mentorship of young girls in our community and Ms. Uche Umeagukwu, Miss Africa World for her philanthropy. The awards were presented by both the Anambra Women Association of Southern California and the office of Assemblyman Mike Gipson represented by Carson City Commissioner, Chief Chike Nweke. The night also featured performance by famed jazz saxophonist- Olu Jazz who thrilled the crowd, a great dinner and lots of dancing from music supplied by Ace Deejay- Osondu
