Police Declare Mohbad’s Friend, Prime Boy, Wanted,⁹ as Court Remands Naira Marley, Others

The Lagos State Police Command, Wednesday, declared one of the friends of the late singer,  Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, wanted, for refusing to answer when he was invited by the Command to assist them in the probe of finding out the circumstances leading to the death of the 27 year old musician who died in controversial circumstances.

According to the Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, a bounty of One million Naira has been placed on the young man, Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Prime Boy.

He was described as a male, approximately 1.64 meters tall, complexioned with tribal marks and Yoruba by tribe. The statement read: ‘If seen, contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727. CP Idowu Owohunwa, hereby offers a handsome reward of 1,000,000 Naira to anyone with useful information leading to his arrest.’

Also, the Lagos State Magistrate Court in Yaba, Wednesday, granted the police and order to detain controversial musician, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, in their custody for 21 days.

Recall that the late Mohbad was formally signed to Naira Marley’s record label. They however fell out, eventually.

Apart from Naira Marley, the court also ordered that the police should remand Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry and detain him in their custody for 21 days.  Also detained and remanded is the nurse that was alleged to have injected the 27 year old singer, Fisayo Ogedengbe, as well as another fellow, Sadiq Ayobami, who also claimed to be the lead singer’s friend. He was also ordered by the court to be remanded as well.

All four of the defendants have been remanded at the state Criminal Investigation Department, Panti and will remain there until the police completes their investigation. Naira Marley was detained after he turned himself in to the police on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, the police approached the Magistrate Court with an application requesting that Naira Marley and the three other defendants are remanded for 30 days.

The Magistrate , however, granted the police 21 days to complete their investigation. The case was then adjourned to October 25th when the report of the police investigation is expected to be ready.

During plenary session at the House of Representatives, Wednesday in Abuja the lawmakers assured the family of the late Mohbad, that they were committed to ensuring that proper compensation and royalties from his music works are duly secured.

The Chairman, House Committee on Justice, Olumide Osoba, representing the Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi Federal Constituency of Ogun State made this during an interactive session on the rights and royalties pof the deceased. Musician who died on September 12t.

It was after this resolution, that a motion of urgent public importance was moved by Babajimi Benson, the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal constituency, Lagos State.
