President Bola Tinubu has waded into the crisis rocking Ondo State over the continued absence of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the plan to impeach the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

DAILY POST gathered that Tinubu will be meeting with political stakeholders in the state on how to resolve the political impasse which had been affecting governance in the state.

It was gathered that after the meeting, there is the likelihood that Aiyedatiwa will be made the acting governor.

Those that will be part of the meeting with Tinubu on Friday at 2:00 pm in Abuja include the Speaker of the Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, principal officers of the state’s legislature, the three senators from the state, and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Ade Adetimehin.

Confirming the meeting, the Speaker of the Assembly said “the only information I can give you now is that myself, my principal officers of the House of Assembly, the state chairman of APC, the national chairman of APC, and the three senators that are representing Ondo State in the National Assembly will be meeting Mr. President by 2:00 pm today (Friday).”

Findings also revealed that 11 out of the 26 lawmakers in the Assembly have aligned with Aiyedatiwa’s camp, with the goal of ensuring that the deputy governor assumes the role of acting governor.

One of the lawmakers, who craved anonymity, stated that external influences outside the state were instrumental in persuading the 11 of them to take the stance.
