Successful Nollywood star and Nigerian movie director, Moses Inwang, has just announced that his marriage to his actress wife, Emem Inwang has just hit the rocks and they have both decided to go their separate ways.
He made this disclosure on his official Instagram page on Monday, explaining that it was a difficult decision to make but that it was necessary that they ended their 10 year old union.
He further explained that it was a challenging time for both of them, but that they both believed and agreed that going their separate ways was the best choice for their happiness and personal growth.
He urged the public to respect and understand the choice made by himself and his wife, Emem, as they move on to new chapters of their lives.
The statement partly read: ‘Happy New Year, family, friends and fans. Today, I wanted to share some personal news that has been a difficult but necessary decision.
‘After much reflection and discussion, Emem and I have decided to part ways after about ten years of marriage. While this is undoubtedly a challenging time for both of us, we believe it is the best path forward for our happiness and personal growth.’
‘As we navigate this new chapter, we kindly request your understanding and respect for our privacy. While we may be parting ways as partners, we remain committed to maintaining a positive and healthy co-parenting relationship for the well-being of our boys. Thanks for the love and support.’
The journey of Moses and Ememâs love story started in April 2014 when they met at Emem Isong’s movie premiere. Shortly after,, he proposed to Emem with a necklace and a heart shaped pendant. One year after that proposal, Moses Inwang stated that he never imagined marrying an actress, until he met his wife, Emem Isong, the 2012 Carnival Calabar Queen.
He maintained that Emem stood out among the women he dated, because of her exceptional beauty and calm nature.
During a joint interview that was once held with Moses and Emem, she admitted that she never had the interest to marry a movie director even though her dream was to be an actress. However, she knew that Moses was the man for her after she spent three months with him.
She also admitted that it was her first relationship and their marriage was actually not expected. They however built a beautiful home together with their two sons, Eden and Jordan.
Emem won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in the movie, Itoro, at the 3rd edition of the Nollywood Movies Award in 2014. She has featured in many movies like Dr. Love of 2020; Itoro of 2013, Lock Down of 2021; Crazy People of 2018, among several others.
