A young man who made a sharp U-turn after attempting to hang himself has reportedly gone on to drink a suspected poisonous substance.
Gistreel had earlier reported that the unidentified man was seen with a rope around his neck while attempting to hang himself from the first floor of a storey building.
In the video, residents could be seen standing and watching as the young man tied the rope around his neck and climbed down using the building’s design blocks.
However, when he reached the point where he would have to let go of the wall and hang himself, he suddenly changed his mind and climbed back up.
He immediately ran into the house after aborting the attempt.
Residents reportedly laughed during the incident
While the young man was making the attempt, some residents stood watching, with voices heard in the background.
Some of the people could also be heard laughing, with the laughter becoming louder when the man decided to abandon the attempt.
He later drank suspected poisonous substance
In a follow-up video circulating on social media, the same man was seen holding a bottle of soft drink and another bottle containing a suspected poisonous substance.
He opened the substance and poured it into the soft drink before mixing the contents while standing at the same spot where he had earlier attempted to hang himself.
He then went downstairs, where an older man, suspected to be his father, was seated.
After speaking angrily with the older man, the young man opened the suspected substance again and drank it before going inside the house.
The video also captured people in the background booing as he drank the substance.

Another video shows him in distress
Another video shared on social media later showed the young man lying on the floor, holding his stomach and crying.
It was not immediately clear from the videos what led to his actions or whether he received medical attention afterwards.
