Inglewood Board of Realtors Hosts the Mayor of Inglewood & Local Real Estate Brokers to a Breakfast Mixer

The inglewood Board of Realtors under the leadership of it;s 2018/2019 President, Mr. Chike Nweke hosted the Mayor of Inglewood, the Hon. James T. Butts and local Real Estate Brokers to a power networking breakfast at the upscale and newly remodeled Proud Bird Restaurant LAX on Wednesday August 29, 2018.

Delivering a keynote speech at the occasion, Mayor Butts enumerated all the exciting things that have been happening in Inglewood since he became Mayor and turned the City’s fortune around from a near bankruptcy, insolvency and unemployment rate of over 17% into a city with over $30 Million in budget surplus, property values that have risen over 120% in the last three years . Enumerating the litany of his achievements Mayor Butts recounted how he negotiated the return of the NFL to Southern California. Both the Rams and Chargers will play home games in Inglewood by the 2020 season. In June of 2017, he led the City to open negotiations with the Los Angeles Clippers with the mutual intent of relocating the Clippers to Inglewood into a cutting edge NBA arena. By 2022 the LA Philharmonic will relocate its Youth Orchestra Program (YOLA) to Inglewood. In 2022, the Super bowl will be held in Inglewood, in 2023 the NCAA Championship Bowl game will take place in Inglewood, by 2024 it is expected the Clippers will open a state of the art NBA arena here and finally in 2028, the Olympic Games will open in Inglewood California. In conclusion, Mayor Butts enthused that “The only thing that has changed in Inglewood is everything!”

In his welcome address, The Inglewood Board of Realtors (IBOR) 2018/2019 President, Mr. Chike Nweke- saluted the great achievement of Mayor Butts as Mayor of Inglewood and said IBOR like it’s host city is also undergoing a major re branding to be proactive and more responsive to member needs and concerns. Mr. Nweke enumerated the achievements of the Board in the last three years in building a new web site, changing to the rapatoni database for faster and more efficient member database management, conducting a member wide survey, offering of more classes to members for professional growth, starting the publication of a newsletter to keep members informed, networking mixers and broker breakfasts for increased interaction between members and the board etc
