Chief Edwin Clark, one of former president, Goodluck Jonathan’s staunch supporters, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Federal Commissioner for Information, dropped this bombshell during a meeting with a group, Think Nigeria First Initiative at his Abuja residence on Wednesday 07/10/2015.

Although his next line of action remains uncertain, the Ijaw leader categorically stated that he would not join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The reason for his sudden action still remains sketchy as at the time of filing this report, although it is likely that he decided to quit the party following Jonathan’s loss at the last presidential election.

He said: “I no longer belong to the PDP. I won’t go to the APC either, but I will continue to talk as an elder statesman and leader of this country. I have left politics. If anyone come to me to say he’s running for any elective position in PDP or APC, I won’t support you. I’m not a member of the PDP anymore.”

Recall that Clark recently encouraged President Muhammadu Buhari to continue with the amnesty programme for militants in the Niger Delta area of the country, and is also one of those who is in full support of the new president’s anti-graft war.
