Kris Asimonye, the wife of Nigerian comedian Bovi, has shared how the comedian encouraged her not to change her last name.
She made this known on her Instagram page, sharing a stunning photo of herself. According to her, when she got married, Bovi encouraged her not to change her last name.
Kris said at the time she didn’t fully understand why; now she is building the Kris Asimonye brand, and she understands completely.

Last year, Bovi and Kris Asimonye, had celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary, with lovely family photos. The comedian revealed that when they get bored, they will make new kids.
Just a day before their anniversary, Bovi celebrated his wife, Kris Asimonye, as she turned a new age. He described his wife as his biggest win since inception. Calling her the love of his life, he stated that his wife is the tree that shades him from the sun.
Bovi got married in 2009 to Kris Asimonye Ugboma.
In an interview 2024, Bovi shared his secret to staying married, revealing that he was just lucky, as he believes most marriages have to do with luck before any planning comes into play. The comedian noted that there is no perfect marriage, but perfection comes from loving the imperfections.
In a past interview, he said he always knew he would marry a fine woman, and was lucky as his wife was similar to his mother. Bovi, also stated that he never planned to have three children, adding that he wanted to have just a child. Now the couple is blessed with three children.
In 2023, the couple renewed their vows to celebrate their anniversary. The couple renewed their vows on water, with mariners as officiating ministers. The video from the renewal caused a stir online, with many nicknaming the couple Mr and Mrs Mariners.
