The veteran actor, while sharing his testimony with Smogim Ministries, expressed gratitude to God after undergoing what he described as a life-changing deliverance.
He thanked God for saving him, saying he arrived feeling burdened, heavy, and unlike himself, but now feels lighter, happier, and renewed.
Hanks also appreciated those who stood by him during his difficult moments, saying God used people to reach out to him and lead him to his deliverance. He added by thanking God for his Mercy and for transforming his life.
In another clip, Hanks Anuku appealed for forgiveness, saying that whatever people saw online, whether he was sleeping or staggering, he wants forgiveness from those he offended.
Two years ago, the legendary actor staged a solo protest in a viral video to address the issue of hunger in the country. In the viral clip, he held a flag with the inscription, “Hunger dey oo”.
In 2022, Hanks Anuku made headlines over his alleged mental condition after a video of him roaming the streets looking all tattered had surfaced online.
While some tried to verify the video’s authenticity, others called on the Actors Guild to do so. From the comments on social media, many attributed his unstable behaviour to drugs. While his younger colleagues, Adanma Luke and Iheme Nancy, confirmed his poor mental condition, Shan George refuted the claims.
Speaking out, Hanks Anuku debunked the reports and refuted all claims, stating that he is perfectly healthy. He made it clear that the photos and videos were from movie scenes and warned rumour peddlers to stop ruining his reputation.
In 2023, he was spotted looking unwell at a petrol station, holding a bag, pacing, ranting and yelling at the fuel attendants and spectators, in his dialect, Igbo.
The video, which went viral, had left many concerned for him.
The Action thriller actor finally admitted in a video posted on his Instagram page that all wasn’t well with him, calling on Nigerians to lend him financial support. He revealed that he had been unemployed for many years and was in dire need of help.
