Edo State Govt Donates N2bn to State Varsity Amid Okpebholo Cabinet Reshuffle

The Edo State Government has, yesterday, pledged N2bn in support of infrastructural development at the Edo State University, Iyahmo, amid the ongoing Governor Monday Okpebholo’s cabinet reshuffle which has the Commissioner for Works, Felix Akhabue redeployed to the Ministry of Water Resources.

Speaking, through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor, he directed the Permanent Secretary to the ministry to oversee its affairs pending when a new Commissioner is appointed.

The statement partly read: ‘The Edo State Government wishes to inform the general public that the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the redeployment of the Commissioner for Works, Dr Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, from the Ministry of Works to the Ministry of Water Resources.’

‘Consequently, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works would take over pending the deployment of a new Commissioner to the ministry. This directive takes immediate effect.’
