Anambra Decides 2021: Key campaign promises of seven major candidates
Anambra Election 2021

Preceding the just concluded gubernatorial election in Anambra State  and in my piece a few weeks ago. I categorically stated that the “Will of Anambranians will not be swindled.”

Following the conclusion of this monumental exercise, which in essence was conducted under very difficult circumstances, the people of Anambra came out and voted their conscience by electing Professor Chukwuma Soludo as our next Governor.
It is my sincere belief that he won in a free and fair election. From all reports from different constituencies, the election was conducted in an orderly and civilized manner. The latter day bickering about irregularities should be shoved aside to forge a way forward. Professor Soludo has proven beyond reasonable doubt to be the clear choice of the people.
Irrespective of my political alienation, I have the grace to congratulate our new Governor on this milestone. And this takes me to the heading of this piece, “WHEN DIM CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU SPEAKS IGBO LAND LISTENS.”
Although Dim  Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu died a few years ago, the respect that he commanded amongst the people of Anambra still remains unequivocal even in death. They remained unwavering in the hotly contested political climate, and came out en masse to exercise their franchise.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which was formed by Chief Chekwas Okorie made Ojukwu the leader and the symbolism has manifested in the Southeast geopolitical zone through the years. The latest stride by APGA by winning the 2021 gubernatorial election shows that even in death-the people of Anambra State still listen to their great leader.
Whatever political machinery that was cultivated to disrupt this election failed in its entirety. The will of the people prevailed. My thanks goes to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for living up to their promise of free and fair election.
Once again, Anambra State has proven to be “The light of the nation.”
Congratulations to Professor Chukwma Soludo- Let your transformational agenda begin.
