Adanna Duru“American Idol” 2015 aka AI Season 14 wrapped up Thursday (Feb. 26) the Top 24 live performances of this year’s Idol hopefuls. Jax, Adanna Duru, Tyanna Jones, Lovey James and Sarina-Joi Crowe are among the best performers of the second Top 12 night.
“American Idol” Season 14 judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr kept their comments to the point. More often than not, they were unanimous in saying a particular performance was spectacular, somewhat good, or somewhat bad.
Overall, the ladies’ night has less Idol moments than the guys’ night. Still, some of those who stood out among the ladies are greater than two or three of the guys combined. It is way too early in the game to predict “American Idol” 2015 Top 10, but it would be surprising if certain ladies fail to make it.
Jax took on Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” and made the decades-old song sound like it was recorded a day ago. The vocals and drama she’s laid on stage made for fantastic entertainment – one that would not be easily forgotten throughout “American Idol” 2015.
Adanna Duru was gorgeously fierce when she covered “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne. She has been making “American Idol” Season 14 more captivating than usual. Adanna grabs the audience with the intensity in her eyes and the grace in her moves – every little nuance she makes.
Tyanna Jones made it look so easy to sing Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” while she’s groovin’ up the Idol stage. This young woman has been a favourite of the “American Idol” Season 14 judges, and there’s no reason to question that. And so they told Tyanna: ‘Feel free to tell the band you can go higher.’
Lovey James kicked off the Idol Top 12 ladies’ night with “Love Runs Out” by OneRepublic. Barely 17, Lovey sounded and looked like a real pro on the Idol stage. No hesitation, no second-guessing, no misstep. Everything looked organic and alive. Lovey said she’s got a “bright personality.” Truly clear.
For Idol comebacker Sarina-Joi Crowe, the fourth time’s a charm. It is difficult to believe she was rejected three times. Perhaps it was necessary to propel her to an unstoppable flight. And she has just begun. Idol judge Jennifer Lopez said Sarina-Joi “rivaled” Jessie J herself with her “Mamma Knows Best” cover.
