The result of the late postgraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke’s autopsy reports have been released and tendered to the Nigerian police headquarters in Abuja.
The report was said to have been submitted, Wednesday and certified credible after a medical team conducted a thorough exercise. So, far nobody has been able to get the content or react to the report. The police command in Osun they have also proved futile in giving confirmation from the police command all because of the referral of the case to Abuja.
According to reliable sources, Adegoke died of severe trauma while his internal and external organs remained intact. Internal organs like the kidney, liver and the heart could not be subjected to tests as they were already in their post decomposition stage during the time of carrying out the test.
According to Adegoke’s autopsy results both internal and external organs are established to be complete and in the normal position that they should be.
The sources further stated that medical experts could not carry out a toxicology test on the body because the stomach had decomposed and was already melting while the tests were being carried and maintained that severe trauma caused Adegoke’s death.
‘I don’t know the type of trauma that he was subjected to before his death because the severe trauma that was arrived at was an open-ended conclusion. Trauma could be as a result of hitting him with sticks or he falls, or sickness, or anything’, he said.
Elder brother to the deceased postgraduate affirmed that the family was aware and informed that the report is out but they are yet to know the details of it
Recall that the late Adegoke was killed at the Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife where he lodged after his arrival from Abuja for his examination. His dead body was found in the bush after his family declared him missing, before it was revealed that workers of the hotel allegedly masterminded the dumping of the late Adegoke and allegedly supervised by the son of the owner, Raheem.
The hotel owner, Mr Adedoyin, is still being detained at the police headquarters in Abuja but nothing has been heard of his son, Raheem
Even though Adegoke’s Autopsy result is out, the police confirmed that no one will agree to speak on it, because the case had already been transferred to Abuja.
The autopsy was conducted by a University Teaching Hospital Consultant Pathologist, Dr Waheed Oluogun, who made it clear that two or three weeks after Adegoke autopsy result is ready, it will be made available only to the police.
The deceased family through their counsel Mr Naheem Adekilekun noted that comments on the autopsy will be made only after the result was out and appealed to the police to be straight forward when prosecuting the case without fear or favour to anybody found culpable.
