Wonders indeed they say never end in this world as a recent report, revealed how a lady took out time to build her own house alone.
The young lady alleged to be aged 26-year-old was reported by source PULSE GHANA news on the 9th of September 2020.
Many social media users who read and followed the story of this woman who single-handedly built her home has claimed that she has become an inspiration and great source of encouragement to other women.
Its important to note however, that the lady in question whose name was given in the news as Zama Philsiwe Zungu a citizen of South Africa is not just any random woman out there who just decided to venture into building for the sake and love of it, or as a hobby alone, rather, she is a renowned and well trained civil engineer.
According to reports, Zana Philisiwe Zungu’s interest to acquire a training in civil engineering, was an inherited passion for construction which was orchestrated from her father, who is also happened to be a builder.
” My father had been a major source of inspiration and motivation for me when it comes to issues pertaining to construction and buildings, because I watched and admired his dedication and work ethics, and on numerous occasions I learnt a lot from him.” she told news sources.
She went on to follow her already motivated passion by enrolling into the Umgungundlovu TVET College in her home city in 2014
The South-African female engineer from Pietermaritzburg became a sensation last month when the country celebrated Women’s Month. Her achievements, with regards to her strength and diligence, as well as her determination to achieve greatness were highlighted as part of her success story.
Pictures of her preparing the cement, making all the measurements and stacking the building blocks all by herself went viral on various social media platforms, warming hearts and provoking admiration.
The reason why Zama gained so many accolades for engaging in construction work is the fact that it is a male-dominated field of work, demanding a lot of energy and skills.
She is reported as saying that she had never worked in construction before, but the practical exams she had passed during college gave her the confidence that she could build the extension to her house by herself.
“This is what I am good at. Renovating my home is very fun and exciting at the same time, practicals are more fun than theory,”Zama is quoted as having said.
Her ambition is to own a construction company and empower more women in the engineering industry.
“Always put your best in everything that you do, never underestimate the power of pouring your heart in what you do. Always seek to improve and empower yourself,”Zungu advised other women.
”To dare is to do, and the uniqueness you apply in what you do makes the difference. There’s no way you can fail on what you are passionate about and determined to achieve in life” she added.
