The federal government on Monday, May 11 said the plant used for the herbal drug produced by Madagascar for the cure of coronavirus grows in Nigeria. This was disclosed by the minister of health, Dr Osagie Ehanire during the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, in Abuja.

” Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the presidential task force on COVID-19 to pick up Madagascar’s self-proclaimed, plant-based “remedy” for coronavirus.

Processes are ongoing to harness herbal medicine for Covid-19 cure – FG set to take Madagascar way Madagascar had donated some of the products to Nigeria through Guinea-Bissau and arrangements were being made to pick them up.

The president directed that the products be subjected to the validation process after they have been picked up.

In a related development, the Catholic Church in Nigeria through the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has offered its 425 hospitals and clinics nationwide for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

This was disclosed by Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, during the daily Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19 media briefing on Monday, May 11.
