The fact that he was chemically castrated to maintain his high-pitched voice is beyond words. I hope his father finds redemption in hell.” said the pop star’s former doctor Conrad Murray.

Superstar Michael Jackson is no stranger to controversy. The King of Pop has been through charges of child molestation allegations and even has his own personal accounts of alleged child abuse by his own father. All in all, the dance and singing maestro has endured a turbulent life, filled with its peaks and lows.

After the iconic artist passed away in 2009, his doctor Conrad Murray was immediately convicted of Michael’s involuntary manslaughter. The Independent reported that Conrad was subsequently sentenced to 4 years in prison but only served a tenure of two years. The charge that was placed on him was administering the propofol sedative before the singer died of a cardiac arrest.

The Independent reported what Murray said. “The cruelty expressed by Michael that he experienced at the hand of his father…The fact that he was chemically castrated to maintain his high-pitched voice is beyond words. I hope Joe Jackson finds redemption in hell.”

The former cardiologist shared his story in-depth in the 2016 book “This Is It! The Secret Lives of Dr. Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson”. In the book, Conrad accuses Joe Jackson, Michael’s father or forcing his son to undergo hormonal therapy, including injections when he was only 12 to cure his acne and to prevent his voice from ever-changing.

According to The Blast, Conrad called Joe Jackson as “one of the worst fathers to his children in history.”  He also shared that during his time caring for Michael Jackson from 2006, he was told of the “many sufferings at the hands of his father,” and claims the stories were horrifying.

In another interview with an Australian News Channel, Conrad spoke about the hormone injections given to Michael by his abusive father to apparently save Michael’s “childhood pitch”.

Michael’s father Joe died at the age of 89 from pancreatic cancer. Michael had previously opened up about his difficult childhood to Oprah Winfrey on her show. He also revealed major details about his troubled past in the 2003 documentary “Living With Michael Jackson” which was presented by Martin Bashir. “It was more than just a belt – cords, whatever was around,” the singer recalled. He said Joe would “throw you up against the wall as hard as you could. He would lose his temper. … I was so fast, he couldn’t catch me half the time. But when he would catch me? It was bad. It was really bad.”

Michael’s own children, however, had nothing but utmost praise and love for the legend. “This man is and always will be an example or sheer will power and dedication. He didn’t choose the path that was the easiest but he chose the path that was best for his family” his son Prince Michael Jackson II wrote as the caption on a post on social media. “You taught me to take pride in the Jackson name and what it really means, you taught me dedication in the face of adversity and most of all you showed me strength and fearlessness,” he added.

His daughter Paris also remembers her dad with sheer fondness and affection. “I will cherish every moment with you till the day I die, especially our last moments … quoting advice you gave me when I was a little kid and seeing your eyes light up, sharing stories my dad used to tell me about you, telling a joke and hearing you laugh for the last time. My heart is full knowing we left each other in that way.” she wrote.
