Private Jet: Oritsejafor Escapes Death
A source close to the revered cleric, said Oritsejafor was on board the aircraft when his pilot discovered a strange sound emanating from the engine of the Bombardier Challenger 600 aircraft, which made him decide to make an emergency landing.
Checks on the aircraft by engineers on ground revealed that two huge bricks were placed inside the engine compartment of the aircraft by yet unidentified persons.
According to the African Free Press, the Man of God is already suspecting that the plan was for the aircraft to crash with him on board, which made him distressed over the development.
The aircraft is usually parked at designated parking spaces at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and Warri Airport under the management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) which collects parking and security charges.
A source in FAAN who preferred to remain to anonymous as he is not authorised to speak, confirmed that the lawyers of Oritsejafor have written to FAAN on the incident, demanding an explanation.
Recall that the CAN president’s name featured prominently in the botched South African arms smuggling operation last year, when two Nigerians and an Israeli man were apprehended in South Africa with close to $10million (N1.7bn) in cash.
But it was later gathered that Oritsejafor had leased the jet to another party, with the pastor retaining a residual interest in Eagle Air, a company that manages the aircraft.
