Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing and BBNaija winner Phyna seem to be eager for their celebrity match this week.
At the press conference for their match on Tuesday in Victoria Island, Lagos, the two nearly exchanged blows.
In the viral clip, Nkechi and Phyna stood on the podium in front of the press, and attendees watched as they almost let hell loose. Eager to fight, the two nearly went into a war zone, but security intervened.
Videos from the event showed the actress and reality TV star confronting each other as people around them attempted to prevent the situation from escalating further.
Kemi Filani reported that Nkechi and Phyna, who have been at loggerheads for days, would be settling their issue in the ring at a celebrity boxing match on October 1st at Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
As they count down to their match, the two have traded words and clashed whenever they ran into each other at public events.
Their match is undoubtedly worth it, as their rivalry has generated buzz and media attention across social media and entertainment circles.
Their latest fight comes days after their physical altercation on The Morayo Show, where an argument reportedly escalated into a fight.
The duo also had clashed at an All-white party for Pretty Mike. In a viral video, Nkechi had comforted Phyna over her statement saying she would beat her up, and Phyna retaliated.
The fight started after Nkechi, in a video she shared online, chastised Phyna for her unending drama on social media. She questioned whether the reality star didn’t have people who talked to her at home. Nkechi said Phyna was becoming a nuisance on social media and advised her to rest.
Her statement didn’t sit well with Nkechi, who left a comment under his post. Responding, Phyna said she was confused about being dragged into it by the actress, noting that they weren’t friends or involved in any business or close relationship. Calling her a grandma, she recalled how Nkechi onced reached out to her for a movie.
In a follow-up post, Phyna, in a video she shared online, threatened to beat Nkechi.
Ahead of their match, Nkechi’s ex-boyfriend, Xxssive, had pitched a tent with Phyna, telling her not to lose the fight.
Recall that Phyna called out socialite Ashmusy for trying to sabotage her multi-million-naira deal. She explained that a boxing organiser company reached out to her for a celebrity boxing deal and asked her to recommend other celebrities to fight, and she picked Ashmusy, who was allegedly telling the company to remove her from the deal.
Defending herself, Ashmusy said she never asked anyone to drop her nor advocated for her downfall.
