Meghan Markle has told fans she is six months pregnant and appeared to reveal her due date.

The Duchess of Sussex also gave her backing to a name suggestion while meeting crowds on a royal visit in Birkenhead, Merseyside alongside Prince Harry .

The mum-to-be even told one person in the crowd that she was six months into the pregnancy and another that her due date is around April.

At another moment, Meghan asked the crowd, which was full of schoolchildren, what she should call the baby if it was a girl.

One said: “Amy” which Meghan replied was a “great name”.

Meghan who was with her assistant private secretary Amy Pickerill, seemed to love the name too.

The glowing Duchess couldn’t seem to keep her hands off her baby bump during the outing.

Dressed in a red coat and matching heels, with a purple dress, she was pictured cradling her large bump throughout today’s visit.

The couple were seen working the crowd, with hugs for schoolchildren from Harry as the receive gifts including a giant teddy and flowers.

Meghan was concerned about some young royal fans, who Harry said “looked absolutely frozen” as they stood waiting to meet them.

The adults with them assured the royal pair the youngsters were going inside for some warm milk, after holding up their sign.

Along with Harry, Meghan is due to visit a number of organisations that support and empower groups within the local community.

The crowd gave a helpful suggestion

Early fans screamed “Meghan” as she and Harry unveiled a sculpture to mark the 100th anniversary of war poet Wilfred Owen’s death.

Together, they lifted a purple sheet off a plaque to go with the sculpture, entitled ‘Futility’ after one of Owen’s poems, as people cheered.

They are then due to visit Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, an organisation that supports women in vulnerable circumstances and helps them make positive lifestyle choices and changes.

Before heading to the Hive Wirral Youth Zone, as their final stop of today’s tour.
