Nigerian singer Johnny Drille has opened up on his relationship and marriage to his longtime partner.
In a recent interview, he revealed that Mavins and Don Jazzy gave him his wife, as he met his wife while being signed to the label.
The singer said he started dating his wife in 2018 but kept the relationship private until 2023; by then, they were already legally married. He admitted that it wasn’t easy keeping it under wraps, but he is grateful.
“I met my wife at Mavins.
I think about it now and how much work we had to put into keeping it under wraps for so long. We started dating in November/December 2018, and the rest of the world got to know in July 2023. And that’s probably five years after, and by then, we had already gotten married. It wasn’t easy keeping it under wraps, but I am grateful”.
Recall that in 2023, Music executive, Don Jazzy had revealed that the singer was married.
Johnny later confirmed it as he shared a loved-up video of him and his wife, Rima Tahini. Expressing gratitude to his millions of fans and lovers, Johnny Drille stated that this was a part of himself that he had never shared, as he described his married status as the very best part and appreciated his wife for loving him and for completing him.
In December, 2023, the couple welcomed a beautiful baby girl. In a heartfelt caption, Johnny Drille emphasized the commitment to protect and nurture his daughter. He also took a moment to shower his wife with appreciation, acknowledging her strength, and her resilience, which left him in awe at her ability to stay strong for their baby.
His wedding came as a surprise as many belived he was in a relationship with popular actress Rahila from the movie ‘Far from Home’.
The singer had caused a stir as he featured the actress in his music video. The video depicted the two stars in a loving and romantic relationship, which sparked rumors that they may be dating in real life.
An exchange between himself and Rahila (Tomi Ojo) in 2019 resurfaced on Twitter. In the exchange, Johnny had shared a photo of himself with the caption “Future Dad!” to which Rahila responded, “…of Tomi’s children “. Johnny then quoted Rahila’s tweet with “Full circle “, which caused a frenzy among his female fans.
These tweets led many to believe that there was a connection between the two stars.
