Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has sparked laughter online after a playful exchange with Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The light-hearted moment was captured in a video shared on Instagram by @OfficialPrinceNwauzor on Friday, during a visit by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to Wike on Thursday.
In the viral clip, Davido, dressed in brown traditional attire, could be seen standing in front of the minister and repeatedly declaring, “I won. I beat you guys.”
Wike, who was seated in a white shirt, smiled and disagreed with the singer.
“No, no,” the minister replied.
But Davido was not backing down.
“I won! I beat you,” he insisted, prompting Wike to ask, “You beat us?”
Without hesitation, Davido responded, “I beat you.”
The exchange quickly turned into a hilarious moment as people in the room joined in, with background voices saying, “I beg o,” while laughter filled the room.
Davido eventually prostrated before Wike before moving in for a hug, drawing cheers, applause and more laughter from everyone present.
The playful exchange has since generated reactions online, with many social media users linking Davido’s comments to the outcome of the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, in which his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, secured re-election.
While Davido appeared to be celebrating a political victory in his usual playful style, the viral moment has certainly given social media another entertaining Davido-Wike moment to talk about.
