Nigerian fashion designer and entrepreneur, Veekee James, has opened up about the value she places on her craft and why she does not charge less than ₦1 million to make a dress for a client.
The designer made this known while speaking about the investment she has made in building her fashion business and the quality customers receive when they patronise her brand.
According to Veekee, the cost of her outfits reflects the time, resources, expertise and value she has invested into her business over the years.
She questioned whether people truly understand the value that comes with wearing her designs, insisting that her services are not priced below ₦1 million.
“I don’t charge below ₦1 million to sew a dress for a customer because I’ve invested so much in my business. Do you know the value you get when you wear my clothes? 😳“
Her comment has sparked reactions from social media users, with many discussing the cost of luxury fashion and whether the quality and prestige attached to a designer’s brand justify such prices.
