There has been a report that popular soul singer Erykah Badu has tested positive and negative for Covid-19 on the same day.
There’s been palpable fear that the world had not seen the last of the dreaded covid-19 virus which weakened major world economies. The world was brought to a standstill as social gatherings, religious events, educational curriculums, sporting and entertainment events and businesses were shutdown due to imposed lockdowns with the aim of preventing the spread of the virus.
As the world was gradually easing off and returning to normalcy based on reports and recommendations of medical experts, there aroused a spike in the cases of infections from the virus, as the death toll began to spiral. Meanwhile, initial concern about a second phase of the virus which was recently predicted by medical experts has began to manifest, as many cases have been reported in the news.
Presently, many countries are experiencing the devastating effects of the virus, especially in places like Europe and the United State of America, a fact which was prominent during and after its presidential elections. Even the outgoing president Trump was recently diagnosed of covid-19 virus.
The world has currently come to terms with the reality that the Corona virus is still very much around and real, and that is still claiming lots of lives. Many prominent world personalities from sports athletes. musical artistes, politicians, world leaders etc seem to be testing positive and self isolating currently.
There is also the peculiar report of the Iconic singer Erykah Badu, whose test results returned both positive and negative at the same time.
According to a report by People Magazine, one test, which used a swab from her left nostril, came back positive, a second test which used a swab taken from her right nostril, was negative for the novel coronavirus.
Erykah Badu wrote jokingly about her peculiar situation and test results on her twitter handle saying that there was “no symptoms even though she was tested for COVID, on the same machine. The left nostril was positive. Right nostril negative. Maybe they need to call Swiss Beats so they can do a versus between them,”
“We have to take those routine COVID tests to work on set,” she added in another message.
Due to the inconsistencies of the results, Badu had to take a third test, which was conducted at her home.
“This is my third rapid test in 24 hours,” she wrote in another Tweet, alongside a video that showed her waiting for her test results to come in.
“I’m at home. I’m doing a home COVID test. It is now Nov. 13, 2020 AD — AC, after corona,”
Erykah Badu joked in the video, before adding that despite trying to keep it light, “I’m actually really scared right now.”
Meanwhile, tech billionaire Elon Musk also tweeted about his own varying test results on Friday.
“Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive,” he wrote; “Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.”
The news of these tests results and reports are becoming worrisome for so many who are genuinely concerned about preventing the spread of the virus and there’s also a lot of anxiety as people are beginning to ask questions on the accuracy of the testing machines, kits, procedures and even in extreme cases the medical personnel.
