Under the auspices of Anambra Progressive Development Union and the convenership of Dr. Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Anambra indigenes from all walks of life converged at the Grand  Cevahir Hotel, in Istanbul, Turkey,  for the event which lasted for 3 days, beginning from August 13, 2021, to August 16, 2021, and was convened to chart a way forward for the development of Anambra State.
They came in droves from our homeland and all parts of the world on neutral ground to engage in a sincere discourse to map out a trajectory for the development of our home state, Anambra.
Notably in the midst was, the Convener  Dr. Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the Honorable Senator representing Anambra South Federal Constituency. Attorney Peter Nwosu( The Chairman of Anambra Progressives Union
in Diaspora) was also in attendance from his Los Angeles, California base, and also was the Chairman of this summit.
Many eminent Anambranians and other well-meaning Nigerians also shelved their engagements to partake in this Davos-sort of the economic summit. The Anambra Progressives Union sincerely appreciates their honor on this occasion.
Having said that, let us get down to the vision and purpose of this summit. It should not go without saying that the bad governance that has engulfed Anambra State in the past decades, beginning with the military dispensation and leading up to the democratic era has all but crippled the ingenuity of our very industrious citizens.
As we struggle to escape this quagmire and given the unstable political climate in Nigeria as a whole, this economic summit became of emergent nature to arrest the degenerating state of development in Anambra and beyond.
The convener and leaders of thought in this great association deemed it necessary to develop a strategic road map in six major categories to upend the underdevelopment and hopelessness that exists in our society towards meaningful developments in all sectors.
These categories include:
Security
Trade and Commerce
 Health care and social
 .          services
 Education
Jobs and Youth Empowerment
 Infrastructural development
The participants, who are successful businessmen and professionals in their own rights, outlined their ideas on how to salvage our state from the apparent decadence.
Dr. Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah spoke eloquently about his vision for Anambra State, which has been in the making even before becoming a politician, through his many philanthropic ventures. He embellished his broad-based ideas on Job creation, security, foreign investment, education, social welfare, health care et al.
Other participants also lent their intuitive opinions from a wide array of subject matters-given their background in trade and commerce education, Healthcare, and overall developmental strategic ideas.
During the course of this convention, the Progressives were honored by the visit by a delegate from the Nigerian High Commission in Turkey. The Turkish Chamber of Commerce also seized the opportunity to intimate the convenes of their business interests in Anambra State and Nigeria as a whole.
In recognition of his selfless efforts to revamp the pace of development in Anambra State Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah received numerous awards from various business sectors in Turkey.
From my personal observation, this was the kind of conference one will expect from a worldwide economic summit-such as Davos.
Anambra State needs leaders that listen and have the capacity to bring various minds together for the common goal of our mutual advancement-more importantly for future generations.
I can only conclude by thanking all the participants in this progressive meeting of minds, as they saw the urgency of purpose by attending this great event.
My hat goes off to our hardest-working Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah for his unquantifiable vision by convening this aegis.
The best of Anambra State is yet to come. Vote your conscience, but vote wisely in the upcoming Gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
The future is very optimistic.
