The Los Angeles chapter launched in a big way on a BET award weekend. The night started at the Parlor in Hollywood, California for a professional mixer. Igbo faces from all over southern California flooded the event. Guests enjoyed walking the UIU-LA red carpet and taking pictures in front of the step and repeat. Guests mingled and were able to make new friends at the event. Many new faces were present which made the night more exciting. Igbos all the way from the Bay Area to Palm Springs travelled to attend this highly anticipated event. The night opened with board Members Ada Azubuike (Public Relations Officer) and Donald Osakwe (cultural chair coordinator) who welcomed everyone and introduced the hosts of the night Esther Ojeh (Event Coordinator) and Obi Iloh (Fundraising Officer). The two hosts did an excellent job leading the crowd in activities that included Igbo trivia and raffling tickets to their Star studded after party, where artists like Jidenna Attended.
