Senator Ned Nwoko has responded publicly to the recent drug test result involving his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, cautioning against what he described as misleading interpretations of temporary abstinence as proof of sobriety.
In a statement issued by his communication team, the senator argued that a single negative drug test does not invalidate earlier medical assessments which reportedly indicated substance use.

He emphasized that recovery requires sustained effort, accountability, and professional support rather than public declarations or social media engagement.
The statement further noted that previous assessments were conducted by independent and reputable centres in Nigeria and South Africa, with findings formally documented and intended to be presented in court if required.
It also addressed attempts to downplay the seriousness of MDMA, stressing that rebranding the substance does not change its chemical properties or associated risks.
