Jennifer Lopez and Drake have reportedly cooled off their budding romance, just two months after sparks first started to fly.
The Love Don’t Cost a Thing beauty has been keeping fans guessing about the status of her relationship with Drake ever since the Canadian rapper attended two of Lopez’s residency gigs in Las Vegas back-to-back in early December (16) and hosted an intimate party she attended.
They continued to fuel the dating speculation by sharing a cosy photo of themselves embracing on social media, before J.Lo joined Drake at his club concert in Sin City to ring in the New Year after pulling out of her own end-of-gig performance in Miami, Florida.
Reports suggested the Hotline Bling hitmaker, who is currently on tour in Europe, also surprised the 47-year-old with a $100,000 (50 millon Naira) diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co., which Jennifer seemingly showed off in an Instagram photo from her New Year’s Eve celebrations.
However, it appears the stars have since taken a step back from turning the dalliance into a full-blown relationship, with a source close to 30-year-old Drake telling People.com, “It was never very serious. They like one another and had fun together.”
The news emerges weeks after Jennifer played coy when quizzed about the Drake dating rumours, revealing they had hit the studio together.
“We did one song together!” she told the U.S. news show Extra last month (Jan17). “I don’t know if we will do more – we will see!”
Fans have also noted the timing of Lopez’s cryptic Instagram post on Saturday (04 Feb 17), when she shared a message many believed to be about love.
“Timing is everything. If it’s meant to happen, it will, and for the right reasons,” it read.
Jennifer split from dancer Casper Smart for good last summer (16) after dating on and off since late 2011, following the singer/actress’ separation from then-husband Marc Anthony.
