I am fascinated with sociology. I have tried to study mass indoctrination. I have read all I can find on how Hitler got the Germans to start to exterminate the Jews. I wondered how you can turn good people into animals in a space of years. I have found my answer. Repeat a message, reinforce the message and the mind accepts what it is told. It works for politicians. They do it well.
Nigeria is in a very precarious position. On and off social media, I see comments from the educated and uneducated on what Trump represents. He is the redeemer of USA from sin. He is the stand against America’s waywardness. He is the defender of the Christian faith. Obama of course is the anti-Christ for allowing LGBT marriages. For “supporting” the emergence of PMB in their minds. So Trump is the Amir of Christianity. They believe that. Nothing you write can change their minds. Even when Trump spoke about America first, they do not get it. The enemy is Islam in their minds and if he is anti-Islam he must be pro Christ.
That is how far we have been mass indoctrinated. That is how far our brains have gone. That is how much damage acceptance of stupidity and a race to show how stupid we are as gone. How did this occur?
It started in the early 80s when a generation that did not live responsibly for the future, did not accept responsibility and blamed our problems largely caused by abdication of values on Satan. Satan has more space here than God. Then in the 90s films like “Living in bondage” and the likes reinforced the power of Satan. Poverty amplified the believe in Satan. My generation in their early 20s then took the message and amplified it. We underwent mass hallucination. Many are still there. In crept testimonies that reinforced lies and more abdication of responsibility.
They rejoiced when the NASS passed a bill forbidding gay marriage, they did not ask which gays asked to be married or if the marriage act had been repealed. They did not ask NASS to speedily pass laws like the Petroleum Industry Bill that could have more effect on their lives, exchange rate and others. They love semantics and all that. The elections had fake materials going around. They said there was an Islamic agenda. Redeemed supported APC while some branches of Winners Chapel paid for votes against PMB. They still hold on to that narrative. The sin of Obama is that he did not “support” the return of GEJ a Christian like him.
Now they look to USA to stand against the creep of Islam. In their minds Americans are now Moslems or at the best non-religious. That worries them. They hope Trump will bring back the Bible. You must despair at that level of blissful and wilful ignorance. You must be amazed how a businessman that has in his heart reviving America as that being equated to religion. Some even feel he will recognise Biafra. That is amazing and worrying. Well they believed Nigeria gave USD500m to the Democratic campaign of Hilary Clinton. So, what is new?
I am afraid for the future. If these are the Nigerians one must cohabit and share space with. What happened to our brains? Where did they go? What or took them? Our campaign should be to bring it back.
We need it. Too many zombies walking around!
