There were full commercial activities, yesterday, in Anambra State as residents defied the two-week sit-at-home order by the Finland-based factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Simon Ekpa.
Recall that Governor Charles Soludo had, a few days ago, held meetings with stakeholders, such as traders, commercial banks managers and others, over the illegal sit-at-home order.
In Awka, the state capital, traders, businesses and transporters, including banks, opened for commercial activities.
In Eke-Awka, Nkwo Amaenyi and Timber markets, traders and buyers came out en masse to transact their legitimate businesses.
Commuters were seen at various motor parks, especially at the popular transport terminals booking and boarding to travel. Commercial buses and tricycles also operated fully without any form of molestation.
It was the same situation elsewhere in the state. In Onitsha, Ekwulobia and Nnewi, among others, markets and banks were open for business, as people were seen moving about freely.
