Successful Nigerian Singer, Tiwa Savage is all set to be awarded an honorary doctorate degree from her Alma Mater, Kent University, in the United Kingdom in July, 2022.
According to the university, the ceremony will hold at Canterbury from 11 to 15 July and Rochester on 20 July where a total of 10 people will be conferred with the degrees.
The institution also made it clear that the Afrobeat singer, Tiwa Savage’s award will be given to her as a way of appreciating her for her outstanding and inspirational performances in the music industry.
According to a statement from the Kent University: ‘The University of Kent is looking forward to awarding honorary degrees to ten inspirational individuals during its congregation ceremonies at Canterbury and Rochester cathedral during July 2022.
‘Among those to receive awards will be singer-songwriter and Afrobeat star, Tiwa Savage, and the 2021 Nobel Laureate for literature and Kent emeritus professor, Abdulrazak Gurnah.’
‘The ceremonies will take place at Canterbury from 11-15 July and Rochester on 20 July.Kent alumni Tiwa Savage will be made Doctor of Music in recognition of her inspiration and international career.’
Recall that the talented singer Tiwa Savage already bagged a degree in Business Administration from the University of Kent, therefore making this upcoming conferment her second degree.
Still on laurels, the talented Singer, Tiwa Savage has also just been announced as the new brand ambassador of smartphone brand, TECNO, at the unveiling ceremony where her new role was launched.
During his address, the PR Communications and Media Manager of the smart phone company, Mr. Vincent Uzoegbu spoke glowingly about the new brand Ambassador. The visibly excited singer, Tiwa Savage during her interview with Newsmen confirmed her new status as a member of the TECNO family and responded thus: ‘I’ve always admired how far the brand has come and what it stands for, so I didn’t have to think about it before deciding to join the TECNO family. It is a testament to how far I’ve come in my career, despite facing many challenges. The brand also has a renewed focus on supporting the African Youth and this also inspires me to want to be part of the story.’
The popular musician is currently on tour in Europe to promote her EP, ‘Water and Garri’ where she put up a great performance at Trädgården, Stockholm Sweden, Sunday July 3rd, leaving her teeming fans excited especially after profusely expressing her love for them in reaction to the massive show of love she received, particularly from her female fans.
