The Enugu State born native doctor, Simon Odo, popularly known as King of Satan has died, leaving behind his 59 wives and over 300 children and grandchildren at the age of 74.
The late Odo, who hails from Aji in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State passed on, Tuesday, after a brief illness.
News of his demise was disclosed by one of his sons, Emeka Odo, who confirmed that the late native doctor died at the age of 74.
He stated that the burial arrangements were already in progress, according to his father’s directives which he spelt out when he was alive. He confirmed that the late native doctor instructed the family not to deposit his remains in the morgue whenever he was confirmed dead but he should be buried as soon as they could, after his demise.
His words: ‘Yes, my father, popularly known as the ‘King of Satan’, is dead. He died on Tuesday morning as he had been sick for the past three weeks’.
‘We are having a family meeting to perfect arrangements for his burial since he instructed us not to put his body in mortuary’, he said.
The bereaved Emeka described his late father as loving and caring, adding that he loved and cared for all members of his family even though they were large in number.
He lamented how big the vacuum he left was, to the family.
Hear him: ‘Since my father died, kinsmen, friends and well-wishers have been trooping in to come and sympathize with our family’, he said.
Recall that in 2017 the late native doctor divorced his 57 wives and vowed not to marry again as he accused some of his children of allegedly sleeping with some of his wives. However he eventually broke his vow not to marry again when he remarried one of the youngest of his divorced wives after she pleaded with him to marry her so that she will be able to take care of him in his old age. Just a month after however the marriage was consummated and she told the Enugu native doctor to sack the youngest wife who was just 18 years old, named Chidinma. This got him really angry as it wasn’t the reason why he married her. So, he beat her up and she left.
He actually married a total of 69 women even though some of them had earlier died. Augustina Odo, Nee Asogwa and Virginia Odo Nee Mogbo who hailed from Oraifite were among his deceased wives.
Interestingly, the Enugu native doctor used to be a baptized Catholic.
His words, some years back: ‘I was born in 1947 on the day they had an eclipse of the sun and the moon. There was darkness in the afternoon on the day I was born. I was the only son of my parents. I was baptized as a Christian in the Catholic church and even became a Mass Servant under Rev. Father Desmond Mcglade. I however became a herbalist because of circumstances beyond my control.
