2027: APC unveils Alli, Adedeji as Oyo governorship, deputy candidates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday officially unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Alli and Adesoji Adedeji as its governorship and deputy governorship candidates, respectively, for the 2027 election in Oyo State.

The unveiling ceremony took place in Ibadan and was attended by party leaders, stakeholders and members from across the state.

Alli emerged as the party’s flagbearer after defeating several aspirants in the APC governorship primary, including the immediate past Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, former Deputy Governor Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Barrister Akeem Agbaje and Engr. Oyedele Alao.

Speaking after his unveiling, Alli described his emergence as a victory for every loyal member of the APC who remained committed to the party’s progressive ideals.

He said the mandate belonged to every party member who voted according to conscience, the women who prayed for the party’s success, the youths who campaigned tirelessly, and all stakeholders who believe Oyo State deserves a brighter, safer and more prosperous future.

According to him, the victory represents unity, perseverance, democracy and the enduring spirit of the progressive family in Oyo State as the party prepares for the 2027 governorship election.

“I wish to specially thank and appreciate the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose courage, resilience, visionary leadership and Renewed Hope Agenda continue to inspire millions of Nigerians toward national rebirth and economic transformation.

“I equally thank the APC National Working Committee, ably led by our Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; the National Monitoring Team; all our zonal leaders; the State Working Committee of our party, ably led by Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo; and all security agencies.

“To all my brothers and fellow aspirants who contested this primary election with me, I salute your courage and your love for Oyo State. Democracy thrives not because we always agree, but because we all believe in a common future. We can always disagree to agree on prosperity for our people. Let us work together in unity to build the Oyo State of our dreams. Together Everybody Achieves More. Let the team spirit in you inspire generations.

“We must all know that the greater task of rebuilding and repositioning Oyo State has now begun. To my brothers and sisters, all aggrieved members, and all your supporters and stakeholders, let us close ranks and march forward together as one united APC family.

“The task ahead is bigger than one man. It requires unity, sacrifice, cooperation and a shared commitment to the common good.”

Earlier in his remark, the Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Moses Adeyemo urged aggrieved members of the party to set aside their individual grievances and support the party for emergence of all its candidates.

He stated that its good for the party to be in government than to continue to be in opposition, adding that members of the party will enjoy dividends of democracy in 2027.

In his remark, the Deputy National Auditor of the party, Hon. Olayemi Olugbenga said the party haven’t handed over INEC nomination forms to the Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates of the party also deem it fit to presented INEC nomination form to it guber candidate and deputy guber candidate in Oyo state.

Dignitaries at the event include Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Senator Hosea Agboola, Oyo APC state women leader, Mrs Felicia Opatunde, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, Pa. Jolaoso, Chief Akin Oke, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya, Alhaji, Shina Alabi, Abass Aleshinloye, Ex-Oyo Speaker, Rt. Hon. Joshua Olagunju.

Others are Oyo APC executives, the three partys Senatorial candidates together with the House of Representatives aspirants.
