That Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s surgery in a Lagos hospital was successfully carried out is no longer news, as the social media has been agog with the joy that he believed in the Nigerian health system enough to have a surgical procedure on his femur, at the Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja-Lagos.

According to the statement released by the hospital management, on Saturday, captioned ‘Successful Medical Treatment of the Vice President’ and signed by its Medical Director, Dr Adedoyin Dosunmu- Ogunbi, a team of six specialist doctors carried out the procedure.

Part of the statement read: ‘The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, was admitted to the Duchess International Hospital GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, today on account of a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone), possibly related to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash.’
