Jennifer Lopez and Drake’s relationship is heating up, but it’s hard to tell whether it’s from their chemistry or from the spotlight they keep throwing on themselves. From their Instagram PDA, to insiders running their mouths to every media outlet imaginable, here’s what’s really going on between J.Lo and the artist formerly known as Aubrey Graham.
“They’re making beautiful music together,” a source told People in early December — and the source was being literal. “They are spending a lot of time together and really enjoying each other,” the insider added, “but right now it’s about the music.” Still, the source noted, “They seem to really like and respect each other, but it’s early. Where it goes, we shall see. Friends of them both are hoping it becomes something, but it’s too early to say more than that.” Lopez’s rep told Page Six, “They are spending time together, working on a new music project.”
Lopez was scheduled to perform on New Year’s Eve in Miami, but bailed on the show with only a week’s notice. The singer’s rep initially told Page Six she needed “personal and family time,” but insiders say there was more to her cancellation than just sipping tea and spending time with her kids. “He will be in Vegas and she wants to hang out with him,” another source told Page Six.
Lopez split from beau Casper Smart in August 2016 after nearly five years together, with insiders saying the breakup was amicable and not dramatic. Smart himself was a rebound from her divorce from Marc Anthony in 2011.
After years of being on-again-off again with Rihanna and never confirming or denying a relationship, Drake and the Bajan beauty went public in August 2016, only to split again by October. Chances are both J. Lo and Drizzy could use some time alone, but that’s neither of their styles…so they may be perfect together.
In addition to working together in the studio, TMZ reports Drake has attended Lopez’s Las Vegas show twice. He also rented out an entire West Hollywood restaurant to have dinner with her, which is pretty serious.

Drake is very charming. He treats Jen with lots of respect. She seems very smitten.”

A source told The Sun that despite being a mom of two, Lopez has no issue with being 17 years her new man’s senior. “They have been seeing each other for a number of weeks and her friends are saying she is already smitten,” the source said. “The age gap doesn’t bother them. They have fun together and that’s all that matters.”
