Pan African Financial Institution, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc will be hosting a Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Workshop, targeted towards honing the skills of entrepreneurs as well as helping them fill existing gaps that will help their business thrive.
The event will see leading business leaders come together to share insights on best practices for running and growing businesses during a turbulent time as this. The sessions promises to be insightful and practical. Speakers who will be impacting invaluable knowledge on entrepreneurs on Wednesday are the following personalities, Founder, Accounting Hub, Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze and Group Head, Tax Management, United Bank for Africa, Emeka Amadi.
In this edition, which will be held virtually, these professionals will give priceless tips to business leaders and participants on ways to ensure their businesses survive especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking on the upcoming SME event, Group Head, Consumer and Retail Banking, Jude Anele explained that UBA is committed to the overall growth of its customers beyond banking services, adding that UBA’s passion is hinged on ensuring that customers and entrepreneurs run businesses that can stand the test of time with the knowledge and experience required to take their businesses to the next level.
He said: “Modern day business requires that an average businessman regularly updates his knowledge to cope with the changing economy. Besides, this is an internet/ technology driven age and our customers need to learn new ways of doing business and how to package their businesses for increased patronage.” “Because of our interest in Businesses and customers, we conceptualised the SME workshop to fill the existing gaps observed in business likewise allay fears of beneficiaries’ hitherto in expanding their businesses”.
Anele added: “Our business leaders for this workshop are experienced in every sense of the word and willing to share insight with others on how to grow their business”.
UBA’s Group Head, Marketing & Customer Experience, Michelle Nwoga, said the business seminar is open to all business owners and leaders across Nigeria and is one that is valuable and important because of its many long-term impacts which range from strengthened confidence, skills, knowledge, and resources.
She also noted that capacity building efforts such as this go a long way in enhancing a customer’s ability to envision and take requisite action on other projects.

Emeka Amadi is a seasoned Chartered Accounting and Tax professional with14 years’ experience. He is currently the Group Head, Tax Management in UBA Plc. He has advised multinationals, conglomerates, large, medium, and small companies, operating in several industries over the course of his professional life. He has facilitated several seminars and training to Finance professionals and sensitising SMEs on the importance of Tax and Accounting function in business value creations.
He is a passionate believer in African economic renaissance – particularly Nigeria despite the many forces of discouragement in the country. He is convinced the hope for Nigeria prosperity will not manifest in the barrel of crude but rather through multiplication of SMEs who can aspire, strive and become large conglomerates that will compete beyond Africa.
Chioma on the other hand is equally a brilliant Accountant and Entrepreneur who passionately loves small businesses. She had an exciting 11-year working career as an accountant, starting from PricewaterhouseCoopers, and going on to head the Finance and Accounting function in several organizations, including Jumia Nigeria.
In 2016, Chioma went on to launch Accountinghub, a tech-accounting firm, focused on serving accounting services to small business, using the most reachable delivery methods. Till date, Accountinghub has served over 500 businesses and trained well over 3000 business owners.
Chioma says she is on a mission to reinvent the way that small business owners access help with their accounting and tax needs in Nigeria; using the power of story-telling and technology. She is well-known as Nigeria’s small business accountant and the tech-accountant.
She is a Chartered Accountant of 13 years, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), has a BSc in Accounting, an MSc in Accounting & Finance and MBA. She is a recipient of several awards, both academic and entrepreneurial, as well as an amazing speaker and writer.
