The Lagos State Police Command has denied claims by Spaceship Entertainment (the management of Burna Boy) that the artist has honoured the invitation of the police and he is happy to cooperate with the police over allegations that he plotted an attack against his colleague Mr 2Kay.

Police spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, who denied the claims by Spaceship Entertainment revealed that Burna Boy is “still on the run contrary to reports making rounds on the internet that the musician has honoured police invitation.”

He said “only Burna Boy’s father, one Samuel Ogulu visited the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) in-charge of the case with the promise to bring Burna Boy before the police.

“The police, therefore, called on “Burna Boy’s father and relatives to do right by bringing the musician and turning him in to the police before the long arm of the law catches up with him.”

On Monday, four suspects identified as Balogun Ademola, Obina Igwe, Tunmise Omotore and Joel Kantiock, who claimed to be Burna Boy’s road manager – were paraded by the police in connection with the attack on Mr. 2Kay.

They were alleged to have been offered N100,000 to teach their victim a lesson.

Recall that Mr 2Kay had landed in hospital after he was battered and bruised by a group of four robbers who stormed his hotel room at gunpoint and robbed.

The assailants had disguised as room service to gain entry into his room, where they dispossessed him of a wristwatch, gold jewelry, and phones, among other valuables estimated at millions of naira.

According to reports, Mr 2kay had just finished performing as one of the main acts during the Buckwyld and Breathless concert and had retired to his room at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, around 11 am when the robbers struck.
