The much anticipated and widely announced homecoming performance of popular singer, Davido’s ‘Timeless’ concert in Lagos has recorded tremendous success as the city witnessed a massive shut down while the show lasted.
Aside from missing him for not having performed on stage for about five months now, his fans were thrilled as they looked forward to being entertained by his new music and other songs from his hits collection.
Davido’s Timeless concert in Lagos was held at the Tafawa Balewa Square at what could be termed, one of the biggest stages in the continent, as it was structured like the monumental National Theatre in Lagos.
The superstar was not the sole performer at the show as other Nigerian artists like Mayorkun, Iyanya, Spiro and Asake also gave great performances to the thrilled audience who were half the time, screaming at the top of their voices.
Another great performance was recorded of British rapper, Tion Wayne who left the crowd overwhelmed with joy and excitement as he performed.
The Ogun state governor, Ademola Adeleke was also in attendance in the company of his aides. As the popular ‘dancing Senator’ entered the arena, fans cheered him by chanting ‘our governor’.
The hosts of the show were comic skit maker and actor, Debo Adebowale, popularly known as Mr Macaroni and Media personality and actress, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly called ‘Kie Kie’. They made a grand entrance as they danced to Kizz Daniel’s Buga.
Another electrifying performance at the Davido Timeless Concert in Lagos was done by popular DJ, Ecool, who performed his popular hit with Davido, ‘Ada’ on stage, making the excited crowd ask for more.
As for successful musician, Spyro, he left the teeming crowd screaming the song lyrics of his popular hit ‘Who’s Your Guy’ from the depths of their lungs as he gave a thrilling performance of the song which remains one of the greatest hits of 2023.
As for talented Nigerian TikToker, Jerry Chuks, popularly known as SoftMadeIt, he entertained the audience with great dance moves, all dressed in a glittering denim outfit as he danced to instrumentals played by the Disc Jockey.
Tochukwu Ojogwu, who is popularly called Odumodu Black, also gave his best shot at the Davido Timeless concert in Lagos. Recall that the release of ‘Picanto’ in 2022 where he featured Ecko Miles and Zlatan, shot him into the limelight. He performed his recent hit, DECLAN RICE’, at the show, making the crowd scream out the lyrics of the song, particularly the part, ‘Ekelebe Stunner’.
Davido performed one of the tracks from his ‘Timeless’ album, alongside new act, Morravey, whom he featured in the video. Having recently signed her to his label, he let her have her first performance on a big stage that night, as she sang along with him.
Other performances were done by Sino Rambo, Iyanya, Khalid, Asake, Starboard Terri, Skibii, Peruzzi and so many others.
