Amara Kanu, the wife of legendary Super Eagles player, Kanu Nwankwo, has recently reacted to the comments of Osaze Odemwingie who also happens to be her husband’s retired team mate in the Nigeria National team for reaching out to him on social media private messaging.
The whole misunderstanding started when Odemwingie took to his Instagram page to accuse his ex teammate’s wife of constantly “chasing” him for a chat.
Osaze initially posted a photo of Kanu’s wife smiling with her son, who was lying on a hospital bed and he was not too pleased with her for contacting him without her husband’s consent.
The ex super eagles player had implied by his post that the legendary Kanu’s wife who happens to also be a fitness expert had contacted him to inquire from him about his thoughts with regards to an health challenge faced by her son who was having an injury to his knee.
Odemwingie however, replied by telling her to contact and confirm from Arsenal football club for advice since her husband suffered from similar issues as at the time he played for the Gunners and was treated too.
According to him he said that;
“The reason why Nigeria is in this state. Too many want to be like America. God turned his back on America as things stand.
Destruction is upon her. How can a wife of a legend like @kingkanu4 be chasing me for a chat relentlessly (check ur DM check your DM ) na by force ? @amarakanu.
Your husband has my number and it’s not in our culture to msg another man without asking your husband. Moreover u r wearing Arsenal kit and he can ask them for advice about knee surgery because he also suffered from similar issues.

Odemwingie wrote In a follow-up post saying that;
“@amarakanu If your hello can’t be public it’s probably not just a hello. Mine is #nigeria #naija LUKE 10:19.”
Amara was however surprised at the way Osaze reacted to her post so she had to make things right by properly explaining the meaning and intentions behind her post and wrote;
“@odemwingie_81 oh no no no. Kindly take this post down. @kingkanu4 is fully aware of this. We want to talk to you as a family.”
While many social media followers are wondering if it is indeed Odemwingie that is sharing all these post, others are saying perhaps his social media accounts has been hacked. What is most sensitive in all of these is, what Kanu’s take in all of these is, Will this episode not bring about a rift between the two ex super eagles teammates?
Fans and friends of both families are however expecting that this little misunderstandings would be resolved amicably by all parties involved.
